Wlgroup in Mons is seeking a senior, hands-on cyber security engineer to deliver capabilities end-to-end on site, with occasional travel to other locations. You will plan changes, install and test networking gear, deploy vulnerability tools, and validate security configurations across Cisco/Juniper and Linux/Windows environments.

Required are 5+ years in cyber security engineering, broad boundary-protection knowledge, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• At least five years of hands-on cyber security engineering.
• Broad boundary-protection knowledge: firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, IAM.
• Experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, web proxies, Splunk, Tenable.SC, Nessus and Fidelis.
• Infrastructure design across routing, switching and VMware.
• Experience delivering security capabilities into live environments.
• Excellent English, written and spoken; bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Responsabilités

Security tools only protect anything once they are properly installed, tuned and handed over.

A multinational defence organisation in Mons needs a senior, hands-on engineer to deliver its cyber security capabilities end to end: plan the change, build and test it, document it, and hand it to the people who will run it. On site, with occasional travel to other locations.

What you would be doing

• Planning deliveries: writing up designs and change requests and steering them through approval with project managers, engineers and operational stakeholders
• Installing, configuring and testing network tapping and aggregation equipment
• Deploying and tuning vulnerability assessment, forensics and monitoring tools - Tenable.SC, Nessus, Fidelis and Splunk among them
• Applying and validating security settings on Cisco and Juniper kit and on Linux and Windows systems
• Investigating faults and performance problems and putting improvements in place
• Running tests and acceptance, documenting what was built, and handing it over to operations with guides, baselines and training
• Advising on security architecture, tool configuration and integration

What you would bring

• At least five years of hands-on cyber security engineering
• Broad working knowledge of boundary protection: firewalls, IDS/IPS, traffic aggregation, data diodes, encryption, identity and access management
• Recent experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, web proxies, Splunk, Tenable.SC, Nessus and Fidelis
• Infrastructure design skills across routing, switching and VMware virtualisation
• A track record of delivering security capabilities into live operational environments - installation through to handover
• Excellent English, written and spoken, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent depth of experience
• Nice to have: work for or alongside military or government organisations
