SOFICO in Belgium is seeking a Senior Saga & API Engineer to expand the Miles API landscape and build reliable business workflows for our Agentic AI solutions. Based in Zwijnaarde, you’ll design, implement and test agent-ready REST APIs that expose Miles capabilities to AI platforms.

You’ll work with Java and/or Python, deliver deterministic workflows with validations and guardrails, and collaborate with Business Analysts, AI Engineers and Test Automation Engineers to ship end-to-end

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience in Java and/or Python.
• Proven ability to design and implement REST APIs within enterprise systems.
• Experience with typed contracts or schemas and automated testing practices.

• Turn saga specifications into reliable, typed implementations with transactional behavior.

From our office inZwijnaarde, weu2019re looking for aSenior Saga & API Engineer who will expand the agent-ready Miles API landscape and build the reliable business workflows that power our Agentic AIsolutions.

What youu2019ll do...

• Design, build and test agent-ready APIs that safely expose Miles business capabilities to our AI and workflow platforms.
• Turn approved saga specifications into reliable, typed and maintainable implementations using Java, Quarkus and/or Python.
• Implement deterministic business flows with clear validations, guardrails, transactional behaviour and failure-handling mechanisms.
• Design robust REST contracts and integrations between Miles, Temporal, the agent runtime and other enterprise systems.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, AI Engineers, Workflow Engineers and Test Automation Engineers to deliver end-to-end capabilities.

What you bring...

• Strong backend software-engineering experience using Java and/or Python in production environments.
• Solid experience designing and implementing REST APIs and integrations with complex enterprise systems.
• Experience with typed contracts or schemas and strong automated-testing practices across unit, integration and contract testing.
• A sound understanding of transactional systems, business-rule implementation and saga or workflow patterns.

Earn bonus points for...

• Experience with Temporal or another workflow-orchestration engine.
• Experience with Miles, leasing, automotive finance, fleet or mobility software.
• Experience building APIs or capability layers for AI agents, automation platforms or other machine-to-machine consumers.
