ENTICO ICT is seeking an experienced Progress developer in Gent, Belgium. The role involves maintaining and modernizing business-critical applications, working in a hybrid environment that blends classic ABL development with modern API-driven architectures (PASOE).

Key responsibilities include application development in ABL, database optimization, API development, and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Progress OpenEdge and be a team player who can collaborate across IT teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Progress OpenEdge / ABL.
• Solid understanding of Temp-tables, datasets, buffers.
• Understanding of Transactions and locking (NO-LOCK, SHARE-LOCK, EXCLUSIVE-LOCK).
• Experience with OpenEdge database design and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of APIs.
• Experience with PASOE.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain applications in ABL (Advanced Business Language).
• Design and optimize database access (OpenEdge DB).
• Build and expose APIs via OpenEdge Studio.
• Analyze and improve performance (queries, locking, transactions).
• Integrate with internal and external systems.
