Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Scientist in Chemical Process R&D in Beerse. You will lead research to develop therapeutic agents, originating high-quality experiments and advancing process methodologies. You will collaborate across projects and with external partners, while ensuring compliance with cGMP and safety standards.

The role requires a Ph.D. or Master with extensive process chemistry experience, strong communication, and leadership in diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree with minimum 5 years of experience in process chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Master in Organic chemistry or related area with minimum 7 years of professional experience in process chemistry.
• Ability to connect and adapt rapidly with different cultural environments.
• Demonstrated ability to handle challenging situations as scientific leader.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in English both verbal and in writing.

We are searching for the best talent for Principal Scientist in Chemical Process R&D to be in Beerse. Purpose: As Principal Scientist in Chemical Process R&D (CPRD), you will lead and execute research to develop therapeutic agents, with a focus on originating high‑quality scientific experiments, advancing methodologies, and applying state‑of‑the‑art scientific knowledge. You will take leadership roles across projects at different stages of development and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Ph.D. degree with minimum 5 years of experience in the area of process chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry
• Master in Organic chemistry or related area with minimum 7 years of professional experience in process chemistry
• Ability to connect and adapt rapidly with different cultural environments
• Demonstrated ability to handle challenging situations as scientific leader
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in English both verbal and in writing
• Team player mentality, the ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment to find solutions for complex problems, willing to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner
• Strong hands‑on lab expertise designing, running, and troubleshooting complex experiments; solid understanding of process development principles.
• Excellent data analysis and scientific communication skills (reports and presentations) with professional working proficiency in English
• Production and process technical transfer experience
• Experience in interacting and leading external partners
• Familiarity with compliance requirements within cGMP, safety and regulatory environments
• Speaking mandarin could be advantageous

• an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is: €82,000.00 - €141,450.00
