Ghent University’s GHEP lab invites applications for a 24-month postdoctoral position focusing on personalized brain stimulation for depression and early Alzheimer's disease. You will bridge simulation research with clinical TMS-EEG implementation and contribute to multimodal data analyses.

Required: PhD in Medicine or Life Sciences within 2 years, expertise in non-invasive brain stimulation and EEG, SIMNIBS, and programming in Python/MATLAB/R; excellent English.

Qualifications

• PhD completed within last 2 years in Medicine, Life Sciences or related field.
• Expertise in non-invasive brain stimulation (TMS/tDCS).
• Expertise in EEG; combining EEG with TMS is a plus.
• Proven experience in complex EEG and MRI data analysis, multi-modal integration.
• Proven track-record in current flow modeling (SIMNIBS) for TMS/tDCS.
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, R.
• Experience in clinical or translational psychiatric research is a plus.
• Excellent English writing and presentation skills.

Responsabilités

• Bridge simulation research with clinical implementation using TMS-EEG.
• Implement and validate MRI-based electric field simulations (SIMNIBS).
• Integrate multimodal imaging data to generate personalized stimulation parameters.
• Set up and run concurrent TMS-EEG sessions with international partners.
• Contribute to manuscript writing and dissemination in high-impact journals.
• Supervise Master/PhD students and promote open, collaborative team culture.
