IMEC in Leuven, Belgium, seeks a Photonics & 3D Project Leader for IC-Link to drive ASIC-related projects from inception through delivery. You will coordinate between customers, business development and technical teams, shaping high level plans and aligning resources across centers.

You will lead multiple photonics-oriented projects leveraging imec technologies, report progress to stakeholders, and interact with design, process, test and reliability engineers.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master in Physics or Electrical Engineering is required.
• >5 years experience in a semiconductor environment; Silicon Photonics is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of optical and electrical test and failure analysis is a significant asset.
• Experience presenting scientific results (publications, conferences, seminars).
• Excellent English communication skills are essential.
• Willing to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

Responsabilités

• Understand customer needs, define and follow up on projects; generate proposals and execute projects from inception to delivery within timing, deliverables and costs.
• Act as the primary contact between customer, business development and technical teams.
• Create High Level Plans and align with expertise centers for resource needs.
• Report status and progress for multiple projects, internally and externally.
• Drive projects to completion within time, cost and scope; escalate issues appropriately.
• Discuss technical issues with engineering teams while representing the team to senior management.
• Keep up-to-date with scientific developments and benchmark imec's expertise globally.
• Interact daily with design, process, test and reliability engineers and support horizontals centers.

Photonics & 3D Project Leader – IC-Link by imec

IC-Link by imec is a complete ASIC(application-specific integrated circuit) solutions provider that can manage thefull product lifecycle– serving start-ups, SMEs and established OEMs as well as universities. Our highly experienced ASIC development team realizes over 600 successful tape-outs per year across all our supported technologies (CMOS, GaN-on-SOI and Si photonics).

What you will do

• Your mission will be to understand the needs, define and follow up on customer specific projects. You will generate project proposals and execute bilateral and internal innovation projects from inception to delivery in agreement with customer request from the perspective of target timings, deliverables and costs.
• You will be the preferred contact point between the customer, business development and the technical teams.
• You will generate the overall High Level Plans and align with the different expertise centers for all resource requirements.
• For each of the multiple projects in execution in your portfolio, you will report on status and progress both internally and externally.
• You will drive the projects to be completed within time, costs and scope agreements. Your strong management skills will steer you to solve issues and only elevate adequately.
• You are familiar with Si and SiN Photonics integration schemes & components and are experienced in discussing technical issues with the engineering teams, whilst at the same time capable of representing the team towards senior management.
• You keep your level of scientific know-how up to date and benchmark imec’s expertise and performance in your domain with the rest of the world.
• You will be part of the IC-Link sector PMO, focusing on projects leveraging imec developed technologies. You will interact daily with design engineers, process engineers, test and reliability engineers. Good communication and interaction with the supporting horizontals expertise centers is a major requirement for this job.
• You will represent imec in contacts with third parties and representatives for semiconductor players from around the globe for matters that relate to your field of expertise.
• You will operate from imec’s HQ located close to Brussels in the heart of Europe.

Who you are
