Hewlett Packard Enterprise's LSIP invites interns and post-docs to advance research in integrated photonics for data centers, HPC, and edge computing. The role emphasizes fundamental science and technology transfer within an international, collaborative setting.

The position supports a hybrid work model with 2 days/week in an HPE office, and targets candidates pursuing a PhD in relevant fields with interests in Si photonics, in-memory computing, quantum computing, or machine learning.

Qualifications

  • Candidates working towards a PhD degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong potential for high-caliber research with a good understanding of current state of the art and trends.
  • Broad, entrepreneurial interest in creating the next generation of HPE’s products and technologies.
  • Able to collaborate with HPE Labs teams as well as external partners.
  • Comfortable working in a strongly collaborative industrial basic research environment.
  • Knowledge of Si photonics, analog electronic in-memory computing, quantum computing, statistical physics, or machine learning is a plus.

Responsabilités

  • Contribute to fundamental science and develop technologies for future market applications within an applied research environment.
  • Collaborate with HPE Labs research teams and external partners.
  • Balance significant technical and scientific contributions with the ability to bring them to practice through innovative solutions.
  • Publish and present findings where appropriate.
