KU Leuven invites applications for a four-year fully funded PhD position in Safe and efficient coordination of mixed traffic with automated vehicles. The researcher will join the Mobility and Industrial Management (MIM) group in Leuven and work on data-driven traffic modeling, control design, and real-world pilots.

The role requires a Master’s degree with distinction and strong programming (Python) and English skills, with opportunities to collaborate with international partners and attend

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with distinction in engineering, computer science, physics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in applying quantitative and mathematical methods to real-world mobility problems.
  • Programming skills (Python) and excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilités

  • Conduct research on safe and efficient coordination of mixed traffic with automated vehicles.
  • Develop data-driven models, control design, and evaluation methods.
  • Collaborate with international partners and stakeholders to ensure impact.
  • Disseminate results through seminars, workshops, and conferences.
