Us3 Consulting is seeking a Senior PCS 7 Automation Engineer for an on-site assignment in Antwerp, Belgium. You will maintain, support, and optimize a Siemens PCS 7 process control environment within a highly regulated life sciences manufacturing setting.

The role combines hands-on technical work with documentation, validation activities, and collaboration with Quality, Engineering and Operations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Siemens PCS 7 in an industrial process automation setting.
• Experience in GMP-regulated life sciences environments.
• Familiarity with validation activities, FAT/SAT and commissioning documentation.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide day-to-day technical support for a Siemens PCS 7 distributed control system within a live manufacturing environment.
• Diagnose automation issues, perform root cause analysis and implement robust, long-term solutions.
• Deliver small-scale system enhancements and modifications, coordinating implementation and validation.
• Work with Quality, Engineering and Operations to ensure changes meet regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance on system performance, risk mitigation and continuous improvement opportunities.

Senior PCS 7 Automation Engineer –(On-site)

Location: Nr Antwerp, Belgium

We are seeking an experienced Senior PCS 7 Automation Engineer to provide on-site automation support within a highly regulated life sciences manufacturing environment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting and continuously improving a complex Siemens PCS 7 process control environment. This is a long-term opportunity where you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance and ongoing optimisation of critical manufacturing systems.

The position combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong analytical, documentation and stakeholder management skills, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex operational challenges while working closely with production, quality and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support for a Siemens PCS 7 distributed control system within a live manufacturing environment.
• Diagnose automation issues, perform root cause analysis and implement robust, long-term solutions.
• Deliver small-scale system enhancements and modifications, assessing technical impact, coordinating implementation and ensuring appropriate validation.
• Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering and Operations teams to ensure all changes meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on system performance, risk mitigation and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Maintain high-quality technical documentation, change records and system knowledge to support operational continuity.
• Contribute to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of interconnected automation systems within a regulated production environment.

Required Experience

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Siemens PCS 7 within industrial process automation.
• Strong understanding of complex distributed control systems and their interaction within manufacturing environments.
• Previous experience working within the Life Sciences, pharmaceutical or other GMP-regulated industries.
• Familiarity with validation activities, including impact assessments and supporting FAT, SAT and commissioning documentation.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot automation issues and implement practical, sustainable improvements.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly organised with a strong focus on documentation, planning and quality.

Additional Requirements

• Native or fluent Dutch is essential, as documentation and day-to-day communication are conducted in Dutch.
