Senior Node.js / React / TypeScript / AWS

About the role

We are looking for a strong Senior Full-Stack Developer to join the team of one of our clients and contribute to the development, maintenance and long-term evolution of their products.

The organisation is currently investing in a more modern technology stack, with TypeScript, Node.js and React at the heart of its new product development, while progressively moving away from legacy technologies.

This role goes beyond simply developing features. You will be expected to understand the technical and product challenges behind the solutions, take ownership of complex problems, explore different approaches and contribute to the technical decisions that will shape the products over the long term.

You will also have an important role in exploring the practical use of Artificial Intelligence within software development, identifying where AI can genuinely improve productivity, quality and efficiency.

Your responsibilities

Software development & product evolution

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve the organisation's products.

• Work across the full stack, with a strong focus on Node.js, TypeScript and React.

• Develop backend services and workers, with Node.js representing a significant part of the backend environment.

• Contribute to the development of modern, scalable applications while helping progressively move away from legacy technologies.

• Work with cloud-based environments and contribute to application deployments.

• Develop and maintain APIs and Back-for-Front (BFF) components.

• Work with cloud services such as AWS Lambda and DynamoDB.

• Ensure that solutions remain maintainable, scalable and sustainable over the long term.

Technical problem-solving & decision-making

• Take ownership of technically complex problems and investigate several possible solutions.

• Analyse the advantages, constraints, risks and short- and long-term impact of different technical approaches.

• Formulate clear, well-reasoned technical recommendations.

• Contribute actively to architectural and technical decisions.

• Consider not only whether a solution works today, but also how it will evolve and be maintained over time.

• Help ensure consistency and coherence across the products and technical solutions.

AI & innovation

• Identify opportunities where Artificial Intelligence can improve software development.

• Experiment with AI tools, technologies and approaches.

• Evaluate their potential benefits, limitations and impact.

• Recommend practical use cases where AI can improve developer productivity, software quality and development efficiency.

• Share your findings and help the wider team make informed decisions about the adoption of AI.

The backend environment is heavily based on Node.js, particularly for workers.

Experience with another major cloud provider such as Azure or GCP can also be relevant, provided you have a good understanding of cloud environments and are comfortable getting hands-on with AWS.

You are a strong Senior Developer with the technical maturity to go beyond implementing predefined solutions.

You bring:

• Several years of experience in professional software development.

• Strong hands-on expertise with Node.js and TypeScript.

• Solid experience with React.

• Experience developing modern full-stack applications.

• Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider.

• The ability to understand and navigate a cloud environment and participate in deployments.

• Experience with Lambda, DynamoDB, serverless architectures or similar technologies is a strong advantage.

• Good understanding of APIs, application architecture and BFF patterns.

• The ability to analyse complex technical problems and compare different solutions.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain and defend technical recommendations.

• A proactive mindset and genuine interest in continuously developing your technical expertise.

• A strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and its practical applications in software engineering.
