Description du poste

Every network runs on a register of names and addresses. If that register is wrong, nothing else works — and nobody notices until it breaks.

You would keep that register right for a multinational defence network, working on-site at Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium under the section head responsible for names and addressing.

What you would be doing

  • Closing tickets inside the agreed service levels
  • Owning the quality and integrity of the data itself
  • Registering and publishing the names, addresses and metadata the networks depend on
  • Extracting, de-duplicating, matching and fusing data, then curating the master records through their life
  • Assigning and registering addressing and enterprise names against infrastructure designs
  • Helping project teams fold names and addresses of configuration items into the central repositories
  • Automating configuration data for partner and mission-network affiliates
  • Automating how network telemetry is collected and ingested

What you would bring

  • Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with three years of related experience, or a secondary qualification with five
  • At least three years as a network technician, or in a DDI or IP address management role
  • Familiarity with network automation or another scripting or coding language
  • Confident subnetting in both IPv4 and IPv6
  • Practical DNS, IP and routing protocols — OSPF, RIP, IS-IS, BGP and the rest
  • Evaluating and processing change requests
  • Auditing device configurations against the registered baseline

Nice to have

  • Address management on military networks, or hands-on use of an IPAM database
  • Wide-area and local-area networking, firewalls, and an awareness of MPLS and multicast
  • An industry certification such as CCNA DevNet or JNCIA, or the experience to match
  • Writing documentation and manuals for a technical readership
  • li>The RIPE NCC local internet registry course
  • Work in an international environment with both military and civilian colleagues

Why this one is worth a look

It is a rare mix: disciplined data stewardship on one side, real automation work on the other, on a network where the addressing genuinely matters.
