Imec, the world’s trusted leader in chip-driven innovation, invites you to join its Compute System Architecture team in Leuven, Belgium. We seek an experienced Memory/Storage Engineer to bridge memory technology and system architecture across AI, HPC, and automotive domains.

You will collaborate across applications, technology, circuits and design, design memory subsystems for complex SoCs, mentor students, publish results, and contribute to cutting-edge research with a market-competitive salary

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering/Science with memory/storage experience.
• 3+ years in memory/storage architecture, design, or compute-near-memory contexts.
• Experience bridging memory tech and architecture for high-impact innovations.
• Hands-on in performance modeling and/or prototyping activities.
• Strong English communication and collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop memory/storage solutions in a system.
• Conduct feasibility studies through performance modeling and prototyping.
• Lead research activities to increase maturity of ideas toward products.
• Develop and customize memory/storage subsystem models for complex SoCs.
• Stay updated on memory/storage tech trends and interfaces across domains.
• Contribute to project definitions, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Mentor Masters/Doctoral students or interns when needed.
• Publish results in journals, conferences, and open-source ecosystems.
