In4Matic is seeking an experienced DevOps professional to manage and operate a central AWS platform. The role emphasizes automation, reliability, and secure platform operations, with responsibilities spanning deployment, scaling, and governance across multiple environments.

The ideal candidate has hands-on AWS experience, IaC practices, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub or Azure DevOps). NDA compliance is required for this long-term consulting assignment.

Function

Our client is looking for an experienced DevOps professional to support the management and operations of a central AWS platform. This opportunity focuses on building, scaling, and improving cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on automation, reliability, and secure platform operations.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and operate the central AWS platform and its associated services.
• Oversee platform traffic and service flows to ensure stable and efficient operations.
• Improve and further develop infrastructure as code practices.
• Deploy and operationalize applications within the landing zone.
• Expand core platform components such as firewall and DNS services.
• Scale the infrastructure of the central AWS environment as demand evolves.
• Automate releases across multiple environments.
• Monitor infrastructure and application health and take corrective action where needed.
• Configure new services and flows as required.
• Prepare system failure and recovery plans to support platform continuity.
• Take the necessary actions to safeguard the reliability of the platform and underlying systems.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS is required.
• Proven experience automating CI/CD processes, for example with GitHub or Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Solid practical experience with Python.
• Proven experience with infrastructure as code.
• Experience with AWS CLI is considered an advantage.
• Experience with Azure DevOps is considered an advantage.
• Experience with AWS security and governance services such as Control Tower, SCP, Security Hub, GuardDuty, IAM, Identity Center, or Inspector is considered an advantage.
• Experience managing a container orchestration platform such as ECS Fargate, Kubernetes, or Docker is considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or MongoDB administration is considered an advantage.

Profile

The ideal candidate brings a technical or engineering background and can demonstrate relevant experience with the required technologies, or with similar technologies in a comparable environment.

• Higher education degree at bachelor’s or master’s level, or equivalent experience in ICT technologies requiring specialist expertise.
• Demonstrable experience with AWS and related cloud technologies.
• Proven experience working in an Agile and DevOps environment is a plus.
• Experience with a central hosting platform in a hub-and-spoke architecture must be demonstrated through one or more concrete cases.
• Experience with implementations aligned to an information classification framework is considered an advantage.
• NDA document must be signed and uploaded.

Practical Information

• This is a consulting assignment requiring 5 days per week.
• The assignment is spread across two consultants and is described as a long-term opportunity.
• The external consultant works from a personal laptop with virtual access to the client environments.
• Interviews are planned within two weeks after the submission deadline.
• Language requirement: fluent Dutch at CEFR level C2.
• English is also required.
