Cisco Isovalent is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with long-term Linux kernel experience to develop features in BPF, networking, and security, and to integrate these into Cilium and/or Tetragon. You will work with a collaborative team to advance networking and security in Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.

You will engage with engineering, product, and customers, and have opportunities to speak at technical conferences, while upholding engineering best practices and code quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
• 2+ years of upstream Linux kernel track record is required.
• 5+ years of experience in C is required.
• A public track record of open-source code commits is a must.

Responsabilités

• Lead design and development of Linux kernel functionality related to BPF, networking and security.
• Collaborate in a small technical team and contribute to upstream Linux kernel community.
• Engage with engineering, product, and customers to align on technical direction with business needs.
• Represent the team at technical conferences (e.g., KubeCon, Linux Plumbers, LSF/MM/BPF).
• Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and operational excellence.
