NEBIRU is seeking a veteran technologist to own the technical vision and evolution of its Data Platform components. You will design scalable, secure services and define patterns for data processing, storage and pipelines.

You will lead architectural discussions and drive cross-team initiatives, ensuring reliability and proactive incident prevention. You will mentor engineers, coordinate contributions across teams, and contribute to roadmaps while translating complex topics for non-technical

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software/systems development experience with leadership
• Solid experience in data engineering and data platform development
• Hands-on with Kubernetes or OpenShift and containerised deployments
• Experience with Helm
• Experience with large-scale object storage (e.g., Amazon S3)
• Hands-on with Kafka or Spark
• Knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses and Medallion architecture
• Strong Git, Maven and CI/CD experience (Jenkins preferred)
• Understanding of PKI, SSL/TLS and certificate-based authentication
• Unix/Linux scripting (Python a plus)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities
• Comfortable working with distributed, multicultural teams

What you will do

What you bring

• 10+ years of professional software/systems development experience, including significant technical leadership experience.
• Solid experience in data engineering and data platform development.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift, including containerised deployments.
• Practical experience with Helm.
• Experience with large-scale object storage such as Amazon S3 or an equivalent platform.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or Spark.
• Good understanding of data lakes, data warehouses and Medallion architecture.
• Strong experience with Git, Maven and CI/CD, ideally including Jenkins.
• Understanding of PKI, SSL/TLS and certificate-based authentication.
• Strong Unix/Linux scripting skills; Python is an advantage.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions.
• Comfortable working with distributed, multicultural teams.
