Description du poste

The internship is aimed at recent graduates who wish to acquire professional experience in EU public affairs, specifically in the healthcare sector. The intern’s main responsibility will be
to support the day-to-day activities of MedTech Europe’s Public Affairs team. MedTech Europe is the European trade association for the medical technology sector and is based in Brussels. Representing an innovative industry, MedTech Europe offers a dynamic and multicultural working environment with regular contacts and interactions with, e.g. its members (medical technology companies and national associations), EU policy‑makers and other EU healthcare stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Research, monitor and analyse EU policy developments and key topics related to the sector (e.g., EU health policy developments, Digital Health, Environment and Sustainability etc.) and share the results with the relevant departments of the organisation
  • Track, attend and report on events and conferences of EU institutions and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and organise external meetings, provide draft agendas, minutes, reports, and briefing notes
  • Contribute to the development of industry positions, briefings, and presentations
  • Support and assist in identifying relevant stakeholders on selected topics
  • Collaborate in writing articles for MedTech Europe internal and/or external communication channels and other relevant publications
  • Provide overall support for the Public Affairs Team projects and cooperate with other teams in MedTech Europe
Requirements
  • Have a strong command of EU politics and the EU decision‑making processes
  • Have strong analytical and research skills
  • Be a team player who can work proactively and independently
  • Be keen to learn and open to receive constructive feedback
  • Have excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Can formulate and articulate clear messages about complex subjects
Nice-to-have skills
  • Familiarity with the EU healthcare landscape
  • Fluency in other EU languages
Details
  • Reporting to: Manager Public Affairs
  • A one-year full time contract (39h) under the Belgian Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP)
  • A remunerated internship with benefits: lunch vouchers, internet and phone compensation, reimbursement of public transportation, possibility of hybrid work
  • This internship is only applicable for candidates who hold a diploma and are not linked to any internship with a university.
