The RPO Company is seeking an experienced Senior Operational Risk & Resilience Consultant to support insurance organisations in strengthening operational resilience and embedding sustainable risk management practices.

You will lead risk assessments, RCSAs, scenario analyses, and governance enhancements while engaging with senior stakeholders and driving risk transformation across the industry.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Control or Risk Consulting in insurance.
• Solid understanding of Solvency II, COSO, ISO 31000 and governance practices.
• Experience with IT Risk, Operational Resilience, DORA, NIST or GRC environments.
• Proven ability to interact with senior management and executives.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Operational Risk & Resilience Consultant to support leading insurance organisations in strengthening their operational resilience, enhancing governance frameworks, and embedding sustainable risk management practices.

This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact assignments, engage with senior stakeholders, and contribute directly to strategic risk initiatives across the insurance industry.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Operational Risk & Resilience Consultant, you will:

• Advise insurance companies on the design, implementation, and enhancement of operational risk frameworks, governance structures, and control environments.
• Lead operational risk assessments, Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), scenario analyses, and control effectiveness reviews.
• Support clients in strengthening operational resilience, business continuity, outsourcing oversight, and third-party risk management practices.
• Translate regulatory and supervisory requirements into practical and business-oriented solutions.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Operations, Internal Audit, and executive stakeholders to drive risk transformation initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops, challenge existing processes, and promote a strong risk culture throughout organisations.
• Contribute to the development of methodologies, best practices, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Mentor and support less experienced consultants in their professional development.

Your Profile

• You have at least 4 years of experience in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Control, or Risk Consulting within the insurance sector.
• You possess a solid understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements, including Solvency II, COSO, ISO 31000, and related governance practices.
• Exposure to IT Risk, Operational Resilience, DORA, NIST, Cybersecurity Frameworks, or GRC environments is considered a strong asset.
• You have demonstrated experience interacting with senior management and executive stakeholders.
• You are able to analyse complex situations, identify pragmatic solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly.
• You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on and results-oriented approach.
• You are fluent in English and have a strong command of either Dutch or French.
