VITO/EnergyVille Genk is seeking an experienced R&D Professional Power System and Grid Expert to contribute to grid modelling, energy market design, and active system management in research projects and consultancy assignments.

You will lead distribution grid analytics, translate challenges into modelling solutions, and collaborate with system operators and regulators across national and European projects to drive the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in power engineering or related field with 3+ years experience.
• Experience with grid modelling and energy market design.
• Proficiency in Python and optimization techniques.
• Strong communication skills in English; Dutch and/or French advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Lead distribution grid analytics and grid modelling activities.
• Translate real-world challenges into grid modelling solutions.
• Develop techniques in optimization and power flow.
• Engage in national and European research projects.
• Prepare high-quality reports and presentations.
• Support acquisition of new projects and proposals.
