The Commonwealth War Graves Commission in Belgium is seeking a full-time gardener on a fixed-term six-month contract to maintain gardens and green spaces in Poelkapelle area.

You will install and care for seasonal plants, mow and trim lawns, prune trees, and ensure equipment reliability while following horticultural practices. This role offers growth opportunities and a contributory heritage mission.

Qualifications

• A keen interest in horticulture, nature and environment.
• Enthusiasm and motivation to learn; experience not essential.
• Willingness to adopt CWGC horticultural practices.
• Strong team player with collaborative ability.
• Basic proficiency in Dutch.
• Health and Safety responsibility for self and others.
• Driving license B advised; C/CE advantageous.

What you'll be doing:

• Install and maintain seasonalplants

• Maintain all gardeningequipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
• Monitor and maintain the healthof plants
• Deal with pest problems thatcould damage plants
• Keep gardens and green spacesclear of debris and litter

What youneed to have andable to demonstrate :

• A keen interest inhorticulture, nature and environment
• Prior knowledge or experienceis advantageous but not essential—enthusiasm and motivation to learn arevalued above all
• Willingness to adopt and masterthe Commission's horticultural practices
• Strong team player with theability to collaborate effectively
• Basic proficiency in Dutch
• Driving License B (C/CE is anadvantage)
• Health and Safetyresponsibility for self and others
