Kriete Truck Centers is hiring a Heavy Duty Diesel Technician for the 2nd shift. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy trucks, working with OEM-certified training and a supportive, team-centered shop environment.

You will handle routine maintenance to complex diagnostics on a range of truck brands, with emphasis on quality, safety, and customer service. Competitive pay and a $6,000 sign-on bonus accompany benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of hands-on mechanical experience or enrollment in an accredited diesel program required.
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.

Responsabilités

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.
  • Perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, clutches, and electrical systems.
  • Use OEM diagnostic software and tools for accurate assessments and repairs.
  • Clearly communicate findings and recommended repairs with Service Advisors and Parts Counter Associates.
  • Maintain detailed repair orders and documentation per standards.
  • Road test vehicles to confirm proper repairs when required.
  • Participate in OEM-directed training to stay current on technology and warranty guidelines.
  • Adhere to safety protocols (OSHA, waste disposal) and keep the shop organized.

Position Summary

Our Diesel Technicians are more than just mechanics - they are problem-solvers and industry experts dedicated to keeping our customers moving. As an HD Diesel Technician at Kriete truck Centers, you will work alongside some of the best in the business, honing your skills through OEM-certified training while handling everything from routine maintenance to complex diagnostics on Mack, Volvo, Hino, Mitsubishi, and Isuzu trucks among others. Whether performing routine maintenance or an in-depth repair, you will have the tools, support, and team-oriented culture needed to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.
  • Perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air/hydraulic brakes, suspensions, clutches, and electrical systems.
  • Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tools to ensure accurate assessments and repairs.
  • Clearly communicate findings, recommended repairs, and service updates with Service Advisors and Parts Counter Associates.
  • Maintain detailed repair orders and documentation of all repairs in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Road test vehicles to confirm proper repairs when required.
  • Participate in our OEM-directed training path to stay current on new technologies, repair techniques, and warranty guidelines.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, hazardous waste disposal, etc.).
  • Keep the shop area clean and organized, ensuring all tools are maintained properly.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with diesel engines and heavy-duty truck repairs preferred.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic fault-code troubleshooting using laptop-based software.
  • Ability to navigate dealer management and OEM diagnostic systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to relay technical information clearly.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks such as walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Forklift operation experience is a plus but not required.
  • Sound judgment and ability to make logical decisions in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Ability to remain professional at all times and work collaboratively with other technicians to complete repairs.
Education & Work Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of hands-on mechanical experience or completion of/active enrollment in an accredited diesel program required
  • Basic tool set required - specialty tools provided.
  • Valid driver's license required
  • CDL not required but preferred
  • Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) is a plus.
