Actalent is seeking a HAZOP/LOPA Lead in Geel, Belgium, on a freelance contract with a hybrid work model. You will lead safety studies across the lifecycle of equipment including reactors, dryers, centrifuges, tanks, and utilities.

The role requires steering the end-to-end HAZOP/LOPA process and substantiating safety decisions while collaborating with project teams and stakeholders in a pharmaceutical/chemical setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience in leading HAZOP/LOPA studies for projects and remediation of studies on existing equipment.
• Encourages and supports the identification and development of innovative technical solutions for safety issues within processes.
• Fluency in Dutch & English.
• Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Process Safety Engineering).
• Experience with process safety activities in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the full HAZOP/LOPA process from preparation to reporting for new and existing installations.
• Analyze, structure, and substantiate safety-related decisions and act as a sounding board on process safety.

A leading pharmaceutical company are looking to hire a HAZOP/LOPA lead position in Geel, Flemish region, Belgium. This is a freelance contract working on a hybrid model.

This team is responsible for safety studies throughout the entire lifecycle of their equipment—covering both projects (from basic engineering to as-built) and the remediation of safety studies for existing equipment.

As a HAZOP/LOPA Lead, you contribute to analyzing, structuring, and substantiating safety-related decisions for new and existing installations (including reactors, dryers, centrifuges, tanks, and utilities). You are responsible for the entire HAZOP/LOPA process (from preparation to reporting) and act as a sounding board regarding process safety.

Experience

• Knowledge of and experience in leading HAZOP/LOPA studies, both for projects and for the remediation of studies on existing equipment;
• Encourages and supports the identification and development of innovative technical solutions for safety issues and opportunities within processes;
• Fluency in Dutch & English.
