Mercor is seeking experienced French Linguistic Experts to join an AI research effort focusing on evaluating and curating French linguistic data for large language models. You will assess LLM French outputs and refine content to align with linguistic and cultural standards.

The role involves annotating text, identifying language gaps, and working with researchers to enhance model performance. Remote collaboration across international teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in French with strong command of grammar, syntax and style.
• Experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work in French.
• Strong understanding of linguistic nuances and regional variations.
• Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies (preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot subtle errors or unnatural phrasing.
• Clear communication skills and experience working in distributed, remote teams.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated French text across use cases (translation, summarization, dialogue, grammar).
• Edit, refine, or rewrite French content to meet linguistic and cultural standards.
• Annotate French text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features.
• Identify model errors and language gaps; collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance.
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback and analysis to guide model training.
