Novartis in Belgium seeks a Facility Project Engineer to develop and modernize one of its largest manufacturing sites. You will lead civil and infrastructure projects, including cleanroom support, utilities, roofing, and site upgrades, blending technical work with stakeholder management and project leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (Construction) or Civil/Construction Engineering.
  • Experience in regulated civil, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, structural engineering, and building codes.
  • Experience managing multiple projects from concept to execution.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in Dutch and English.

Job Description Summary

As a Facility Project Engineer at Novartis, you will contribute to the development and modernization of one of our largest manufacturing sites.
You will manage diverse projects including industrial buildings, cleanroom support infrastructure, office renovations, roofing, utilities, sustainability initiatives, and site infrastructure upgrades. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise, stakeholder management, and project leadership in a dynamic pharmaceutical environment.

Job Description
Major accountabilities:
  • Develop and manage civil and infrastructure projects within pharmaceutical manufacturing and research facilities.

  • Prepare technical concepts, feasibility studies, cost estimates, and project scopes.

  • Coordinate engineering activities with production, maintenance, quality, EHS, utilities, and external contractors.

  • Ensure project execution complies with GMP requirements, safety regulations, and applicable building codes.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, procurement activities, and contractor performance.

  • Support all project phases from concept development through engineering, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (Construction), Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Experience in civil, industrial, or infrastructure projects within a highly regulated industrial environment.

  • Knowledge of construction methods, structural engineering principles and building regulations.

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from concept through execution.

  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.

Desirable requirements:
  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, food industries.

  • Industrial buildings, utilities, warehouses, cleanrooms, foundations, steel structures, roofing, HVAC support structures and site infrastructure projects.

  • CAPEX project management and contractor management.

  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or BIM-based design tools is an advantage.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range: 52.200 - 96.900 EUR.

The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed
