ClientEarth in Brussels is seeking a Lawyer, Environmental Democracy for a fixed-term, full-time role to advance the Aarhus Convention within European public institutions.

The post focuses on advocacy, strategic litigation support, and collaboration with NGOs to promote environmental democracy, with English fluency and a law degree required. Flexible working and visa sponsorship are available.

Qualifications

• Fluent English (CEFR C2) required.
• A degree in law is required.
• Relevant professional experience in UN processes or environmental planning/permits is preferred.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills are needed.

Responsabilités

• Engage in advocacy to promote and defend the Aarhus Convention with NGO partners.
• Identify and address barriers to access to justice in environmental matters at national level (Central/South Eastern Europe).
• Build relationships with NGOs, legal experts, academics and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration.
