HumanInTech in Antwerp is seeking a technically skilled operator for sludge processing lines, including thermal hydrolysis and a drying installation. The role focuses on reliable operation, monitoring, and preventive maintenance on-site in a safety-conscious environment.

You will start with day shifts for the first three months, then possibly join a 5-shift rotation. The assignment runs until the end of January 2027, with opportunities for continued engagement as either freelancer or employee.

Qualifications

• BA4 certificate (or BA5); provide BA authorisation before starting.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Comfortable using Microsoft 365 applications and handling administrative tasks.
• Full professional proficiency in Dutch.
• Experience with mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Willingness to work in a shift system (5-shift rotation) after an initial period.

What you will do

You will work as part of a team responsible for the reliable operation of a sludge processing line, including thermal sludge hydrolysis and a drying installation. This facility transforms wastewater treatment residues into a valuable product that serves as a green energy source and raw material.

Your day-to-day tasks include:

• Operating and monitoring the sludge processing, thermal hydrolysis and drying processes
• Conducting rounds, taking samples, checking measurements and adjusting process parameters as needed
• Identifying and resolving electrical and mechanical faults using your electro-mechanical knowledge
• Performing preventive maintenance on the installation
• Handling administrative follow-up and reporting to ensure proper process control

What we are looking for

• Good knowledge of electro-mechanics and electricity
• Valid BA4 certificate (or BA5); you must be able to provide a BA authorisation certificate before starting
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility
• Comfortable using Microsoft 365 applications and handling administrative tasks
• Full professional proficiency in Dutch
• Experience with mechanical maintenance tasks
• Willingness to work in a shift system (5-shift rotation) after an initial period

The setting

This assignment runs until the end of January 2027 and starts as soon as possible.

The first three months you will work day shifts; afterwards you may be asked to join the 5-shift rotation system.

The role is based in Antwerp and is fully on-site.

You will be invited for an online knowledge test if your profile matches the requirements. Only candidates who pass this test will be invited for an interview.

The client places high importance on safety. Work is always carried out wearing a helmet, safety shoes, work clothing and gas detection equipment.
