John Cockerill Energy in Belgium is seeking a Drum Drafter to contribute to design and coordination of Drum packages for large-scale international energy projects. You will work closely with experienced colleagues and progressively take responsibility for your technical scope, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Junior engineers or drafters are welcome; you’ll benefit from extensive on-the-job training, international collaboration with teams in India, and a structured onboarding programme,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Drafting and willingness to learn in an international setting.
  • Junior profiles and recent graduates are welcome.
  • First experience is appreciated but not mandatory.

Responsabilités

  • Prepare and update General Arrangement and manufacturing drawings for Drum equipment.
  • Coordinate drawing activities with India-based drafting teams.
  • Monitor progress and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Review technical inputs before design activities and support engineers with documentation.
  • Develop into the technical reference for the Drum scope over time.

Your role

As a Drum Drafter, you will contribute to the design and coordination of Drum packages for large-scale international energy projects.

Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will progressively become responsible for your own technical scope while ensuring the quality, consistency and timely delivery of engineering documentation.

Beyond technical drafting activities, you will play an important coordination role with our drafting teams located in India, ensuring smooth communication and efficient project follow-up.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated junior engineer or drafter to develop strong technical expertise within an international engineering environment.

Your key responsibilities

You will:

  • Prepare and update General Arrangement and manufacturing drawings related to Drum equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards, customer specifications and project requirements.
  • Coordinate drawing activities with drafting teams located in India.
  • Monitor drawing progress and ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Review technical inputs before starting design activities.
  • Support engineers by providing accurate technical documentation throughout project execution.
  • Prepare and update Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation according to Quality Management System requirements.
  • Develop progressively into the technical reference for the Drum scope.

You will join a collaborative engineering team led by Thomas Neufcour, working closely with another experienced Drum Drafter in Belgium and an international drafting team based in India.

The department currently manages a growing number of international projects, making organisation, communication and collaboration essential.

Your profile
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Drafting

Junior profiles and recent graduates are welcome.

Experience

A first professional experience is appreciated but not mandatory.

Most importantly, you demonstrate strong motivation to learn and grow within an international engineering environment.

Technical skills
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Good 3D visualisation skills.
  • AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing drawings.
  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials is an asset.
  • Comfortable using MS Office.
  • Professional English (written and spoken).
  • French is required.

Knowledge of pressure vessels, welded structures or piping is considered an advantage.
