Vulcain Engineering Belgium is seeking a Downstream Process Engineer to join its consulting team in Belgium. You will be the single point of contact for process development, coordinating design of equipment packages and optimizing downstream processes within biotech/pharmaceutical projects.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience in downstream equipment design, a degree in engineering or related fields, and fluency in French and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, biochemical engineering, biotechnology, or related field.
• 5-8 years experience in downstream equipment design in biotech/pharma.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Experience with purification equipment is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Process Development: Design of the required equipment package and optimize downstream processes including purification, HETP, buffer preparation.
• FAT/SAT support: Test process equipment at vendor shop and on site; document testing in protocols/reports.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve process-related issues to maintain production performance.
• Documentation: Maintain documentation of process equipment, user requirements, and design qualification reports.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure processes comply with regulatory requirements and cGMP standards.

Vulcain Engineering Belgium is looking for a Downstream Process Engineer to join its consulting team.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

• Process Development: Customer’s SPOC for the Design of the required equipment package, and optimize downstream processes including purification, HETP, buffer preparation ….
• FAT / SAT support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test all the process equipment at the vendor shop and on site. Document all required testing in relevant protocols and reports
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve process-related and technical issues to maintain optimal production performance.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of process equipment, User requirement and design qualification protocols and reports.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with regulatory requirements and cGMP industry standards.

ABOUT YOU:

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, biochemical engineering, biotechnology, or related field.
• You have between 5 and 8 years experience in downstream equipment design in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
• You are fluent in French and English
• Experience with purification equipment and knowledge of automation systems is a plus
