Vivid Resourcing is seeking a Design Engineer to join a high-skilled product development team in Kortrijk, Belgium. This hands-on role focuses on mechanical design and development of consumer products, from initial concepts and prototypes through testing, optimisation and final production.

You will design components, assemblies and housings, create 3D CAD models and technical drawings, and collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure designs meet technical and commercial

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Fusion 360.
• Experience designing mechanical products, components or assemblies.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques such as injection moulding, CNC machining, sheet metal, extrusion.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, tolerancing and design for manufacture.
• Hands-on approach to product development and problem solving.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in consumer products, product development or high-volume manufacturing would be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies and consumer products.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies and technical drawings.
• Develop concepts and translate product requirements into practical mechanical solutions.
• Select appropriate materials, components and manufacturing processes.
• Design with manufacturability, durability, cost and quality in mind.
• Build and evaluate prototypes and contribute to product testing.
• Identify design issues and implement improvements and optimisations.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to develop and refine products.
• Support the transition of products from development into production.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, production and product development teams where required.
• Contribute to design reviews, documentation and technical specifications.
• Help ensure products meet relevant quality, safety and performance requirements.
