Michael Page is partnering with a well-established Belgian group to appoint a consolidation specialist. You will own end-to-end consolidation for Belgian GAAP and IFRS across multiple entities, including international and IFRS-linked scopes in insurance and real estate.

You will harmonize practices, drive improvements in processes and reporting, and collaborate with Accounting, Controlling, Tax, Treasury and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 5–7 years of hands-on consolidation experience end-to-end.
• Strong Belgian GAAP knowledge and consolidation principles; IFRS experience valued.
• Insurance sector exposure is a strong asset.
• Proficient with Excel and consolidation/ERP tools.
• Fluent in French, Dutch and English.

Responsabilités

• Take end-to-end ownership of the Group's consolidation across entities and scopes.
• Perform intercompany eliminations, IFRS adjustments and currency translations.
• Prepare reliable consolidated financial reporting and coordinate closing cycles.
• Own two consolidation scopes including international entities and IFRS for insurance/real estate.
• Harmonize accounting practices and ensure data quality across entities.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Controlling, Tax, Treasury, M&A and external auditors.
• Improve consolidation tools, processes, reporting and internal controls.
• Develop the consolidation function with a view to more frequent cycles.

Job Description

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will take end-to-end ownership of the Group's consolidation activities, covering both Belgian GAAP and IFRS scopes.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Managing the end-to-end consolidation process across Belgian and international entities, covering both Belgian GAAP and IFRS reporting;
• Performing key consolidation operations, including intercompany eliminations, IFRS adjustments and foreign currency conversions;
• Preparing reliable consolidated financial reporting and coordinating the different closing cycles;
• Taking ownership of two consolidation scopes, including international entities and an IFRS scope mainly linked to insurance and real estate activities;
• Harmonizing accounting practices and ensuring consistency and quality of financial information across entities;
• Working closely with Accounting, Controlling, Tax, Treasury, M&A and external auditors;
• Improving consolidation tools, processes, reporting and internal controls;
• Building and further developing the consolidation function, with the ambition to move towards more frequent consolidation cycles.

The Successful Applicant

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field;
• Around 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, with hands-on, end-to-end consolidation experience;
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP and consolidation principles, with IFRS experience highly valued;
• Previous exposure to the insurance sector would be a strong asset;
• Comfortable working with Excel and consolidation/ERP tools;
• Good command of French, Dutch and English;
• Hands-on, autonomous and proactive, with the ability to thrive in an environment where processes are still evolving;
• Ambitious and eager to take ownership of a function and contribute to its future development.
