Elia Group is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to develop, implement, and manage cloud solutions across Azure Cloud and Kubernetes platforms. You will build automated infrastructure using Terraform and maintain CI/CD pipelines, while ensuring security and reliability in a hybrid Belgian setting.

Qualifications

• Significant experience writing Terraform configurations and modules; OpenTofu/Biceps a plus.
• Solid experience deploying apps with containers (Docker) & orchestration (Azure Kubernetes); ArgoCD, Helm knowledge.
• Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code.
• Proficient in translating designs into fully developed Terraform code.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud; relevant certifications a plus.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, subnets, routing, load balancing, and cloud security.
• Experience in enterprise-scale environments, building highly available IaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Understanding of landing zones, cloud-native security, monitoring and logging tools, and Well-Architected Framework principles.
• Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• English required; French/Dutch/German a plus.

Side-by-side with other Contingent Workers and internal staff, you will play a part in building a sustainable, green and reliable energy infrastructure that stimulates economic growth and reduces our ecological footprint.

We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer who will be collaborate with other engineers to develop, implement and manage cloud solutions within our company. The Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining the automated infrastructure for our Azure Cloud and our Kubernetes Platform. This includes provisioning, configuration, and monitoring our cloud resources using Terraform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices such as CI/CD, automation, IaC, Data (Databricks/DataFactory) and Kubernetes.

Tasks:

• Developing, Testing, Debugging, and Troubleshooting of Containerized Infrastructure.
• Build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large and small-scale systems.
• Ensure solutions are well-engineered, maintainable, and delivered on schedule.
• Work with business and engineering teams to deploy new infrastructure in our Azure Platform.

Requirements:

Technical skills

• Significant experience writing Hashicorp Terraform configurations and modules. Good Knowledge in OpenTofu/Biceps in a plus.
• Solid experience in deploying/securing distributed apps with containers (Docker) & orchestration (Azure Kubernetes). Solid experience in ArgoCD, Helm, etc.
• Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code, etc.
• Proficient in translating designs into fully developed Terraform code.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud (certification is a plus).
• Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, subnets, routing, load balancing, firewalls, and cloud security.
• Experience in enterprise-scale environments, building highly available IaaS and PaaS solutions
• Understanding of landing zones, cloud-native security, monitoring and logging tools, and Well-Architected Framework principals.
• Experience with containers related technologies and CI/CD tools - DevOps, pipelines, container repos, etc.
• Experience in programming and infra-automation tools - Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• A deep understanding of the Data Platform technologies and ability to work with services like ADF, Databricks, …
• Experience in Cloud logging, monitoring, and observability tools (ex: Grafana, Prometheus, …)
• Proficient in scripting languages (i.e. Bash, Powershell, CLI, Python).

Additional information:

• Location: Primary location is Namur and Brussels occasionally, with the option to work from home up to three days a week.
• Telework: A minimum onsite presence of 2 days per week in Namur is required for this service request.
• STANDBY: After the training period, the consultant can be assigned to standby duties as agreed in advance with the manager. While on standby, the consultant is not actively working but must remain reachable and ready to respond if needed. The consultant may stay at home or elsewhere, provided they can respond promptly and intervene using their ELIA laptop. If necessary, the consultant will return to the site during the standby period to perform the intervention.
  • The consultant must be available and able to act immediately if contacted.
  • Standby periods will be scheduled and agreed upon beforehand
