Sword Group in Brussels is seeking a Data & BI Architect to design and maintain Enterprise Data Warehouses and BI solutions. You will craft cloud and on‑prem architectures, model data, and oversee ETL and data quality initiatives.

The role requires strong SQL, data warehousing expertise, and experience with data lakes, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and BI reporting tools, with collaboration across multi‑disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design and architecture.
• Strong knowledge of data lake / data lakehouse design and architecture.
• Excellent knowledge of relational database systems applied to data warehouse.
• Very good knowledge of cloud‑based business intelligence technologies.
• Knowledge of non‑relational database technologies.
• Strong expertise in data warehouse and big data (structured and unstructured data).
• Strong expertise with object‑oriented programming; proficiency in Python would be an asset.
• Expertise with migration of data infrastructure to cloud (AWS, Azure) would be an asset.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL.
• Excellent knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools.
• Excellent knowledge of ETL tools.
• Excellent knowledge of modelling tools.
• Excellent knowledge of OLAP and data mining tools.

Job Description

Creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes / Data Lakehouses);

• Designing architectures both on the cloud and on premises (hosting or cloud on‑premises) or a combination (hybrid);
• Gathering business requirements;
• Designing ETL processes;
• Data analysis and data modelling;
• Data virtualization;
• Physical DB design and performance analysis;
• Design of Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes;
• Elaboration of test programs;
• Writing of technical documentation;
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system;
• Participation in meetings with other project teams.
