Hasselt University invites applications for a part-time lecturer (50%) in the tenure track system to strengthen its CenStat/DSI research line in biostatistics. The role includes educational duties in the Master of Statistics and Data Science, with emphasis on Clinical Trials, and teaching statistics across programs.

The candidate should hold a PhD in statistics, possess an international research profile, and be able to collaborate across groups.

Qualifications

PhD in statistics (or equivalent).
Academic reputation for internationally competitive research in biostatistics, particularly in clinical trials, and/or demonstrated potential for future impact.
Ability to facilitate interdisciplinary interactions within the Data Science Institute and beyond.
Involvement in international collaborations.
Cooperative and team-oriented.
Experience with academic education: course coordination/organization, development of teaching materials, supervision of theses.
Experience with interdisciplinary education in statistics is a plus.
Experience in scientific consulting/contract research for industry; grants at national/international level is a plus.
Within 5 years, demonstrate Dutch language knowledge at CEFR B2; language lessons provided if needed.

Responsabilités

Educational responsibilities for courses in the Master of Statistics and Data Science, especially Clinical Trials; teaching statistics in other bachelor’s and master’s programs at Hasselt University; involvement in supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses.
