Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services in Wetteren, Belgium, is seeking an experienced Automation & Maintenance Engineer to lead ensuring GMP-compliant plant reliability. You will plan, coordinate and improve preventive and corrective maintenance across automation systems.

The role requires a Master in Engineering with pharma automation experience, Dutch and English fluency, and hands-on PLC/DCS knowledge. You will drive CI initiatives, validation documentation, and supplier coordination in a dynamic,

Qualifications

• Master degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience.
• Proven automation and instrumentation experience, preferably pharma.
• Fluent Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong IT skills; knowledge of PLC/DCS systems.
• Knowledge of building management system software.
• GAMP and SAP knowledge preferred.
• Experience with Lean/Sigma/Operational Excellence is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Plan and coordinate preventative and curative maintenance activities.
• Maintain overview of automation; decide priority and troubleshoot when necessary.
• Brief supervisors and technicians about critical activities.
• Follow GMP and safety rules during interventions.
• Coordinate maintenance with mechanical, instrument and electrical colleagues.
• Write validation documents, procedures, SOPs and review them.
• Preparing and follow-up of shut downs.
• Set up CI projects concerning process automation to optimize yields and comfort.
• Analyze requirements for new investments and upgrades.
• Make up user requirements to request supplier offers.
• Facilitate ICT infrastructure; provide network cabling and access control.
• Negotiate with suppliers and contractors; follow up contractor activities.
• Remain informed about new technologies and evaluate offers.
• Be back up for the maintenance manager and be available on site.

• People and performance: direct and coach the N+1's in order to meet the goals


• Ensure good comprehension of the individual and team goals and the current procedures to be followed


• Follow up and discuss the individual performance and behaviour, Identify training needs and provide the necessary on the floor training and coaching


• Inspire, motivate and remove resources obstacles, build a team climate of trust and accountability


• Be back up for the electrical maintenance manager and availiable for interventions on site in case of production technical issues related to automation

Your Profile

• Master Degree in Engineering or similar by experience


• Proven experience in automation & instrumentation, preferably in the pharma industry


• Proficient communication in Dutch and English (written and spoken)


• Knows how to deal with pressure and deadlines, sets the right priorities, resilient attitude


• Excellent IT Skills, knowledge of automation systems and programming PLC and DCS systems


• Knowledge of building management system software


• Preferably knowledge of GAMP, SAP


• Experience with Operational Excellence (Lean/Sigma) is an asset.
