Legend Biotech is seeking an Associate Technical Specialist to join the MSAT Technical Support team on the shop floor. You will act as a SME, ensure robust and compliant CAR‑T manufacturing, and drive continuous improvement while supporting operational excellence.

The role operates in a shift-based model with on-call support and collaboration with Operations, Quality, and technical experts to resolve issues and maintain process robustness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or equivalent by experience.
• Total 3+ years in biopharma with at least 2 years in a cGMP biotech or biopharma environment.
• Experience in Cell and/or Gene Therapy manufacturing is a strong asset.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical support and troubleshoot on the shop floor.
• Serve as MSAT Operations Bridge lead and process owner on assigned tasks.
• Support continuous improvement projects, CAPAs, and change controls.
• Document investigations and coordinate with MSAT leadership and Quality.

As an Associate Technical Specialist, you will join our MSAT Technical Support team and play a key role in ensuring robust, compliant, and efficient CAR‑T manufacturing operations. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), you will provide hands‑on scientific and technical support on the shop floor while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This role operates in a shift‑based model, providing direct shop floor and on‑call support to manufacturing operations.

What can you expect?

Here’s what you’ll do

• Technical Support & Troubleshooting (Shop Floor Firefighting)
  • Act as the first point of contact for process‑related issues during manufacturing
  • Temporarily reprioritize work to support urgent shop floor issues, working via a ticketing system or ad‑hoc requests
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment‑related problems (e.g. equipment errors, process deviations, validation or technical constraints)
  • Lead or participate in escalation calls when issues cannot be immediately resolved, in close collaboration with MSAT leadership, Operations, Quality, and technical experts
• MSAT – Operations Bridge & Process Ownership
  • Maintain strong on‑the‑floor presence through active engagement, including GEMBA walks in Grade B and Grade C environments
  • Act as a scientific bridge between MSAT and Operations, ensuring deep understanding of how processes are executed on the shop floor
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Act as an end‑to‑end process owner, with a solid understanding of process robustness, acceptable deviations, and optimization opportunities
  • Apply a science‑driven perspective to ensure correct handling of cells and continuous improvement of manufacturing practices
• Project & Continuous Improvement Support
  • Support process improvement and optimization initiatives, focusing on practical, impactful improvements.
  • Contribute to documentation updates, investigations, CAPAs, and change controls
  • Support larger projects
  • Contribute to data collection and trend analysis to support informed decision‑making

Who are we looking for?

Education

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences oriented field is required, or equivalent by experience

Experience

• Minimum 3 years in total, of which 2 years in a cGMP biotech or biopharma environment
• Experience in Cell and/or Gene Therapy manufacturing is a strong asset

Languages

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
