Michael Page International (Belgium) is representing a leading international retailer seeking a skilled finance professional to manage and reconcile financial transactions, support closing activities, and ensure compliance with BE GAAP and IFRS.

The Successful Applicant will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting/Finance, be fluent in Dutch with good French and English, and excel at reconciliations, controls, and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management with initial experience in a similar role.
• Strong accounting knowledge enabling independent management of complex reconciliations (intercompany, fixed assets).
• Proficiency in Excel; interest in ERP systems and Generative AI tools.
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage priorities effectively while meeting strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Fluent in Dutch with a good command of French and English; committed to continuous learning and process improvement.

Responsabilités

• Manage and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities and support financial reporting under BE GAAP and IFRS.
• Perform complex account reconciliations, including intercompany and fixed assets accounts.
• Analyze and optimize financial processes by implementing automation and efficiency improvements.
• Partner with operational teams (stores, e-commerce, logistics) to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Identify financial risks, strengthen internal controls, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
