Johnson & Johnson Beerse site seeks a PhD-level scientist to advance amorphous API development, focusing on precipitation and isolation strategies and particle engineering to meet API specifications for drug products.

You will use advanced analytics (UPLC, XRD, Raman, ATR-FTIR) and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable processes from lab to manufacturing, contributing to breakthrough medicines and patient impact.

Qualifications

  • PhD (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Materials Science, or related.
  • Strong understanding of amorphous properties, precipitation principles and processing-attribute relationships.
  • Strong lab experience with data-rich experiments and interpretation.
  • Experience generating high-quality experimental data for process understanding and scale-up.
  • Excellent scientific English communication.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional team.

Responsabilités

  • Perform lab research into controlled precipitation and isolation procedures for amorphous APIs.
  • Evaluate different precipitation and isolation technologies and approaches.
  • Design and optimize particle engineering strategies to achieve target API characteristics.
  • Develop mechanistic understanding via data-rich experimentation and modeling.
  • Assess impact of process parameters on precipitation, particle properties and manufacturability.
  • Design scalable lab-to-plant processes delivering desired API specs.
  • Apply analytical techniques and PAT tools (UPLC, XRD, Raman, ATR-FTIR, laser diffraction, DSC, DVS) to guide research.
  • Drive innovation through collaborations and academia.
