Pauwels Consulting partners with a major utility sector client to recruit an experienced ABAP developer. You will work on critical business software across legacy and next-generation SAP environments, including R/3 and S/4HANA.

The role focuses on ABAP Web Dynpro, RAP and CDS, FI-CO support, and secure coding with ATC in an Agile setting. Location: Melle, Belgium. Start date: 26/11/2026. Duration: 12 months. Work regime: Full-time. Open to permanent or freelance contracts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years ABAP development in SAP R/3/S4HANA environments.
• 5+ years FI-CO experience.
• 3+ years SAP CRM.
• 1+ year SAP SD.
• Experience with RAP and CDS.
• ABAP Web Dynpro knowledge.
• Secure Coding and ATC familiarity.
• Agile development exposure.
• Fluent Dutch (C2).

Our client, a prominent player in the utility sector, is looking for an experienced developer to join their financial applications team. This role focuses on the development and maintenance of critical business software using modern programming models within both legacy and next-generation environments.

• Develop and manage complex ABAP programs on both SAP R/3 and SAP S/4HANA systems.
• Implement web-based applications using ABAP Web Dynpro.
• Utilize the ABAP RESTful Programming Model (RAP) for modern application development.
• Integrate the SAP Virtual Data Model through the creation and management of Core Data Services (CDS).
• Support the financial and controlling modules (FI-CO) through technical enhancements.
• Ensure software quality and security by applying secure coding principles and using the ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC).
• Collaborate within an Agile framework to deliver iterative software improvements.

• 5+ years of experience in ABAP development, including SAP R/3 and SAP S/4HANA environments.
• 5+ years of experience with SAP FI-CO modules.
• 3+ years of experience with SAP CRM.
• 1+ years of experience with SAP SD.
• You have professional experience with the ABAP RESTful programming model (RAP) and SAP Virtual Data Model (CDS).
• You possess hands‑on experience with ABAP Web Dynpro.
• You bring knowledge of Secure Coding in ABAP and the ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC).
• You're familiar with Agile development methodologies.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level.
