Job summary

Daily Mail Australia is seeking two experienced video producers to join our fast-paced Sydney newsroom, translating sharp TV news expertise into compelling digital content.

You'll shoot and edit packages for interviews, VO/SOTs, docs, and explainers, collaborate with reporters and editors, and manage rights and licensing for online distribution. Weekend/evening shifts are required, and a showreel is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in TV or digital newsrooms producing daily video content under tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Photoshop, or other industry-standard editing and graphics software.
• Skilled with camera and lighting equipment, both in studio and on-location shoots.
• Strong understanding of visual news storytelling, scripting, and basic field production.
• Experience crafting content for digital platforms with a clear understanding of engagement and optimisation techniques.
• Knowledge of media law, copyright clearance, and ethical newsgathering practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a dynamic editorial team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with reporters and leadership to develop visual storytelling for breaking news.
• Source footage from agencies, archives, and online sources, with attention to copyright.
• Pitch news-driven video ideas aligned with Daily Mail Australia audience.
• Ensure ethical newsgathering practices and rights clearances.
• Support the multimedia team with flexible weekend/evening shifts.

The ideal candidates will bring a strong background in TV news with the ability to translate that experience into sharp, visually compelling content for digital platforms. We're looking for people who thrive in a newsroom environment, have excellent editing skills, and are confident taking a story from pitch to publish under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Shoot and edit high-quality video packages, including interviews, VO/sots, documentaries and visual explainers, optimised for digital distribution (YouTube, social media, and web)

Work alongside reporters and the senior leadership team to develop visual storytelling that complements breaking news and original reporting

Source file vision, overlay, and relevant b-roll from agencies, archives, and verified online sources, with attention to copyright and licensing

Pitch news-driven and original video story ideas aligned with the Daily Mail audience

Key Skills and Experience:
