Job summary

Healthcare Australia is seeking a compassionate Casual Residential Youth Worker to support children in out-of-home care across Australia. You will join a welcoming team, work flexible AM/PM and sleepover shifts, and help with daily living, attendance at school, and community activities.

The role requires a relevant certificate, 6 months experience, a current First Aid/CPR, Working with Children Check, and a driver’s license. Training in Trauma Recovery Framework and TC I will be provided.

Qualifications

• Hold or be studying towards a Certificate IV in Youth Work or similar.
• 6 months of residential youth work experience.
• Availability for AM, PM and sleepover shifts through the week and weekends.
• Australian Driver's License (P2 or higher)
• Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate
• Physiological assessment or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and create a safe, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.
• Assist with personal care, meals and hygiene while encouraging independence.
• Support attendance at school, appointments, and community activities.
• Encourage emotional regulation and social connection through daily activities.
• Administer medication and maintain accurate records.
• Support complex behaviours using trauma-informed approaches.
• Complete Trauma Recovery Framework and TCI training within three months.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams on individual support plans.
• Maintain wellbeing through supervision, reflection, and self-care

As a casual Residential Youth Worker with HCA, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. We areseekingcompassionate and resilient youth workers to support children from a wide range of backgrounds.

As a Youth Workerat Infinity you willbe joininga welcoming and supportive team.To make life a little easierfor you,we do our rosters inadvance, which grants you some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.
