Brimbank City Council in Melbourne's western suburbs is seeking a Youth Wellbeing and Belonging Officer for a temporary full-time role based in Sunshine. The position focuses on outreach to young people aged 12-25, delivering engaging programs and counselling intake with a strengths-based, community development approach.

You'll work with internal and external partners to promote wellbeing, inclusion and belonging, while aligning with Council priorities and ethics guidelines.

Qualificações

• Relevant Degree and/or Masters Qualification and several years' experience in Youth Work, Wellbeing, Social Work or related discipline and membership/registration with the relevant association
• Demonstrated experience in designing, delivering and evaluating youth wellbeing and engagement programs and projects.
• A strong understanding of the application of the YacVic Code of Ethics.
• Sound understanding of personal development, family functioning, interpersonal relationships and issues relating to young people.
• A positive, curious and flexible attitude
• Availability to work on weekends and after standard hours is essential
• Experience in local government is desirable.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role

• Reporting to the Team Leader, Youth Wellbeing and Belonging, we are seeking a Youth Wellbeing and Belonging Officer who can bring their skills, and experience and passion for working with young people. This role will involve:
• Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver Council's strategic priorities that improve community engagement and wellbeing opportunities for young people.
• Lead the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of innovative youth engagement initiatives that promotes youth wellbeing, participation, inclusion, leadership, belonging, play, physical activity and community connection.
