Job summary

Newcastle Anglican seeks a Mental Health Clinician to support access to care for young people aged 12-25 within headspace streams. You will work with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team to ensure care is responsive to evolving needs and aligned with the headspace model.

You will contribute to risk management, documentation, and service improvement while participating in therapeutic and referral activities across the youth mental health spectrum.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, OT or Mental Health Nursing.
• Full professional registration with relevant body (AHPRA where applicable).
• Current driver’s licence and access to insured vehicle.
• First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain; WWCC; National Police Check; Australian work rights.
• Experience in headspace service, No Wrong Door approach and hMIF requirements.
• Experience in youth mental health service delivery and group programs.
• Training in CBT, ACT, trauma-informed practice or equivalent interventions.
• Training in suicide prevention or related safety training.
• Experience with alcohol and other drug screening, brief intervention and referral.
• Experience engaging diverse communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Responsibilities

• Support access to care across core headspace streams.
• Contribute to safe service access, risk identification, escalation, and documentation.
• Engage in multidisciplinary care planning, data collection and service improvement.
• Collaborate with young people aged 12-25, families, carers and the wider team to ensure responsive care.
