Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Youth Participation Worker to design and deliver engaging, youth-led programs for young people aged 16-25. You will build confidence, life skills and networks through safe, inclusive spaces across Peninsula programs, based on-site in Frankston, VIC, reporting to the Client Services Coordinator.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, community services experience, and a current VIC Driver's Licence and Working with Children Check, with

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Social Sciences or a related discipline (degree qualification preferred).
• Experience working within the community services, youth or social services sector.
• Strong understanding of youth participation, engagement and empowerment principles.
• A current VIC Driver's Licence.
• A current VIC Employee Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate innovative youth-led groups, activities and events.
• Empower young people to actively shape programs and service delivery.
• Support young people to build confidence, resilience and independence.
• Create safe, inclusive and engaging environments where young people can flourish.
• Build partnerships with community organisations to increase opportunities and outcomes for young people.
• Provide person-centred, trauma-informed support that helps young people achieve their goals.
