About the Role

As an NDIS Youth Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting young people to build confidence, develop life and employment skills, and work towards greater independence.

You will:

  • Deliver engaging group programs and one-on-one supports
  • Design and facilitate workshops tailored to diverse learning styles and support needs
  • Support participants to achieve employment, social and independence goals
  • Provide end-to-end support across training, workplace and community-based activities
  • Build positive relationships with participants, families and stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Youth Consultants and Workplace Consultants to support participant outcomes
  • Monitor progress, maintain records and contribute to participant success stories
About You

You are passionate about empowering young people and helping them reach their potential. You bring energy, creativity and a strengths-based approach to your work.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Confidence supporting people with a range of abilities and behaviours
  • Resilience, initiative and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational and computer skills
  • Flexibility to work across a varied roster, including weekends when required
  • An understanding of the NDIS and person-centred practice (desirable)
Qualifications & Experience

Highly desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Counselling or a related field
  • Current professional registration or membership with:Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)Australian Counselling Association (ACA)Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)

Formal qualifications are valued; however, relevant experience, life experience and a genuine commitment to supporting young people are equally important.
