Job summary

SAG Workforce Pty Ltd is seeking a practical Yard Person to manage our warehouse shed, yard, tools and civil equipment.

You will receive deliveries, organize stock, maintain tool/equipment registers and coordinate movements between the yard and project sites, working closely with the Allocations Manager and project teams.

This hands-on role suits someone with warehousing or stores experience in construction or civil operations, with a strong focus on safety and looking after company assets.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s licence.
• Experience in warehousing, stores, yard operations or similar practical role.
• Construction or civil industry experience with tools/equipment.
• Confident with computers, email, spreadsheets and basic recordkeeping.
• Strong organisation skills and ability to prioritise requests.
• Practical, mechanically minded approach to faults and repairs.
• Clear communication with crews, suppliers and Allocations Manager.
• Commitment to safety and looking after company equipment.

Responsibilities

• Organising and maintaining a safe, tidy and functional warehouse shed and yard.
• Receiving deliveries, checking stock and preparing tools, equipment and materials for projects.
• Managing stock levels and identifying items requiring replenishment.
• Maintaining an accurate tools and equipment register, recording what is assigned to each job, vehicle or crew.
• Checking equipment in and out, monitoring returns and following up on missing or damaged items.
• Coordinating equipment and vehicle movements between the yard and project sites.
• Carrying out basic equipment checks, maintenance and minor repairs within your skills.
• Liaising with subcontractors, mechanics and service providers for repairs, servicing and inspections.
• Monitoring vehicle and equipment condition, service schedules and maintenance records.
• Using computer systems to maintain stock, allocation and maintenance information.

We are seeking a practical, organised and mechanically minded Yard Person to manage our warehouse shed, yard, tools, civil equipment and vehicles.

• A strong commitment to safety and looking after company equipment.

Fleet management experience will be highly regarded, along with experience maintaining tool registers, coordinating servicing or managing construction equipment. A forklift licence would also be an advantage.
