Job summary

Ausco Modular in Darwin invites a hands-on Yard Hand (Operations Technician) to join our team. You’ll operate forklifts, prepare hire units, perform basic repairs, and inspect returned equipment to ensure fleet readiness.

You’ll report to the Branch Manager and work Mon-Fri 7am–3:30pm. If you enjoy practical tasks, keeping yards tidy, and contributing to timely transport, this role is a fit. Prior maintenance or trades exposure is valued.

Responsibilities

• Operating forklifts to move and position buildings and materials.
• Getting hire units ready – cleaning, prepping, and packing for transport.
• Carrying out basic repairs, maintenance, and general upkeep.
• Inspecting returned equipment and identifying any issues.
• Using hand and power tools for day-to-day maintenance tasks.
• Assisting with stocktakes and keeping the yard organised.
• Completing simple paperwork and recording asset movements.
