Job summary

The Midfield Group in Warrnambool, Victoria, is seeking a Yard Driver to join the transport team. You will load, unload and move semi-trailers, operate the terminal tractor, shuttle trailers, perform pre-start checks and maintain neat, safe vehicles on site.

This role offers Monday to Friday dayshift with occasional Saturday mornings, the chance to work with a supportive team, and access to employee discounts and on-site facilities as part of our commitment to safety and career development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a heavy vehicle licence and have driving experience.
• Experience operating a terminal tractor or similar equipment is desirable.
• Good understanding of road safety and driving requirements.
• Reliable and safety-focused.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some Saturdays.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move semi-trailers around the Midfield site.
• Operate the automatic Daysworth terminal tractor.
• Shuttle trailers in and out of Midfield premises.
• Deliver offal and by-products to Midfield-owned sites as required.
• Complete pre-start and post-shift vehicle checks.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean and tidy condition.
• Report safety, maintenance or operational issues to supervisor.
• Maintain accurate driving records and documentation.
• Follow all company safety and operating procedures.
• Drive safely and comply with road laws and driving requirements.
• Wear required PPE and maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
• Work predominantly Monday to Friday with possible Saturdays.

We own and manage farms, factories, and distribution channels, ensuring complete control over the essential aspects of bringing livestock from paddock to plate.

We are currently seeking Yard Driver to join our transport team in Warrnambool, Victoria.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Load, unload and move semi-trailers around the Midfield site
• Operate the automatic Daysworth terminal tractor
• Shuttle trailers in and out of Midfield premises
• Deliver offal and by-products to Midfield-owned sites as required
• Complete pre-start and post-shift vehicle checks
• Maintain vehicles in a clean and tidy condition
• Report any safety, maintenance or operational issues to the supervisor/manager
• Maintain accurate driving records and documentation
• Follow all company safety, hygiene and operational procedures
• Drive safely and comply with all road laws and driving requirements
• Wear required PPE and maintained a safe and hygienic work environment
• Work predominantly Monday to Friday, with dayshift and nightshift hours available and occasional Saturday mornings
• Be reliable, flexible and willing to undertake other duties and training as required
• Embrace and utilise new technology and systems

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

• Appropriate heavy vehicle licence and relevant driving experience
• Previous experience operating a terminal tractor or similar equipment is desirable
• Good understanding of road safety and relevant driving requirements
• Reliable, safety-focused and responsible
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional Saturday mornings
• Willingness to learn and undertake training
