Job summary

Liebherr-Australia is seeking a Workshop Technician to provide safe, efficient, and compliant mechanical and electrical services, including diagnostics, repair, maintenance and component replacement for our customers across the division.

The role requires experience with electrical/mechanical systems, reading engineering drawings, and maintaining high safety and QA standards, with responsibilities spanning from diagnostics to documentation and continuous improvement of product support processes.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III Mobile Plant Technology required
  • High Risk Licences; LF, DG, EWP required
  • Working at Heights certificate required

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical and/or mechanical services including diagnostics, repair and maintenance
  • Inspect products and/or materials for conformity
  • Request required spare parts
  • Operate relevant lifting equipment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manuals
  • Maintain, overhaul and test electrical/electronic equipment
  • Perform lubrication of electrical equipment
  • Conduct diagnostic analysis on electrical systems
  • Run adjustments to plant and equipment
  • Repair vehicle/plant electrical components
  • Modify wiring looms and electrical components
  • Machine armatures and ream bushes to fit shafts
  • Strip, clean, lubricate and paint repaired items
  • Improve the Product Support process
  • Maintain relationships with customers
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Accurate completion of documentation (timesheets, maintenance requests, site docs)
  • Health and safety compliance (QA, HSE)
  • Alert organisation to quality issues
  • Suggest policy/process improvements
  • Other duties as directed

Job description

The Workshop Technician is responsible for the provision of the safe, efficient and compliant mechanical and/or electrical; diagnostic, repair, maintenance and component replacement services to the Division’s customer base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical / mechanical services including but not limited to:
  • Inspect products and/or materials for conformity
  • Request required spare parts
  • Operation of relevant lifting equipment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manuals
  • Maintain, overhaul and test electrical/electronic equipment
  • Lubrication of electrical equipment
  • Diagnostic analysis on electrical systems
  • Running adjustments to plant and equipment
  • Repair Vehicle/Plant Electrical Components
  • Perform modifications to wiring looms and electrical components
  • Machine armatures and ream bushes to fit shafts
  • Strip, clean, lubricate and paint repaired items
  • Active involvement in the continuous improvement of the Product Support process
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Accurate completion of documentation including timesheets, maintenance requests and any customer/site specific documentation required
  • Personal (i.e. individual’s) health and safety performance and behaviour and that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others
  • Compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policy and Procedures.
  • Alerting the organisation of potential or known problems that affect the quality of LAS products and services
  • Initiate recommendations for improvement of the organisation’s policies and processes
  • Other duties as directed
