Job summary

WesTrac’s Mt Thorley Rebuilds Workshop in the Hunter Valley is seeking a Workshop Plant Mechanic to lead rebuilds, repairs, and commissioning of CAT machinery. You will ensure machines leaving the centre meet safety, reliability, and WesTrac standards.

You will work with a skilled team through teardown to completion, performing disassembly and assembly of major components, diagnostics, and scheduled maintenance in a structured workshop setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in machine rebuilds or major component overhauls.
• Strong diagnostic capability and a safety‑driven mindset.
• Ability to work in a structured workshop environment and follow WesTrac safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct strip‑downs, rebuilds, repairs, and assembly of CAT machinery and major components in the workshop.
• Perform detailed inspections and quality checks throughout the rebuild lifecycle.
• Complete scheduled maintenance and adjustments to support timelines.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop in line with WesTrac procedures.
