Job summary

Charles Sturt University in New South Wales invites applications for a Workplace Relations Specialist. You will provide expert advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters and lead case management activities to support a fair and compliant workplace across the University.

Reporting to the Director, Workplace Relations and Compliance, you will partner with leaders to drive positive workplace outcomes, contribute to policy development, and help ensure compliance with employment

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in employment relations, industrial relations, human resources or related discipline; higher education experience preferred.
• Extensive experience in employee and industrial relations within a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, IR frameworks and enterprise agreement development and implementation.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex workplace matters with discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills; policy development and advisory experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and relationship-building capabilities.

Job description

• Lead complex ER and IR matters with University wide impact
• Partner with leaders to drive positive workplace outcomes

The role

• Full Time, Fixed Term (up to 12 months)
• Level 8 - $113,948 to $128,980 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation)

As a Workplace Relations Specialist reporting to the Director, Workplace Relations and Compliance, you will play a key role in fostering a cooperative, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture while ensuring the University meets its industrial, legislative and employment obligations.

You will provide expert advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters, lead case management activities, and contribute to projects that enhance employee relations outcomes across the University.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring;

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in employment relations, industrial relations, human resources or a related discipline, with higher education experience desirable.
• Extensive experience in employee and industrial relations within a complex organisational environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, industrial relations frameworks and enterprise agreement development and implementation.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex workplace matters with sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, including policy development and advisory experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and relationship-building capabilities.
