Cognizant is seeking a Principal Data Consultant with strong Workday HCM/Finance experience to guide clients through transformation, implementation and operation phases of Workday projects.

The role involves leading data design, migrations, ETL development and data quality efforts across diverse client environments, with emphasis on delivering value and robust data governance.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a Workday Data expert with design, configuration, testing and implementation for HCM and Finance.
• Partner with team and clients to excel in each project phase.
• Use Workday tools for tenant-to-tenant migrations such as iLoad, EIB and Migration tools.
• Design data tracking and monitoring tools and develop readable, useful reports.
• Convert and map data sources into conversion templates via iLoads, EIB, and Advanced Load.
• Guide clients through data extraction, cleansing, and configuration of business processes and security.
• Create ETL scripts to transform and load data and improve data quality.
• Validate data loaded into Workday and support client through all project phases.
• Engage clients across all phases for a smooth transition from legacy systems.
• Take leadership on projects or as Cognizant/Workday Partner Lead or Delivery Reviewer.
• Mentor fellow consultants and share knowledge through shadow assignments.
• Participate in update training and internal knowledge sharing opportunities.

Job description

The Cognizant Workday Practice is seeking a Principal Data Consultant experienced in Workday Human Capital Management or Financial Management. As a Principal Data Consultant you will guide clients through the transformation, implementation and operation phases of a Workday implementation.

This role is best suited for self-starters who are eager to work across a range of customers and dive headfirst into all phases of Workday system implementations. We provide world-class, on-the-job training and an incredibly supportive network of mentors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform in the role of a Workday Data expert with knowledge of design, configuration, testing, and implementation for both HCM and Finance
• Partner closely with your team and customers to achieve excellence in each phase of your projects
• Use Workday tools of iLoad, EIB, Object Transporter, Advanced Load, and Migration Recipe to do tenant to tenant migrations
• Design and generate data tracking and monitoring tools, and develop reports with accurate, easy to read, useful information
• Utilize your technical aptitude to convert and map data sources into data conversion templates via iLoads, EIB, and Advance Load
• Guide clients through the data extract and cleansing process, including loading customer data, moving configuration from tenant to tenant, and configuring business processes and security
• Create ETL scripts to transform and load data, and create strategies to improve and normalize client data
• Support the validation of data loaded into Workday
• Regularly engage and support the client through all phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transfer from legacy systems to the Workday solution
• Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, while regularly keeping the client, your project team and your Engagement Manager abreast of changes or progress related to the project
• Willingness to take a leadership position on a project, or as a Cognizant or Workday product Partner Lead and/or Delivery Assurance Reviewer.
• Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, including providing support for shadow assignments.
• Actively participate in update training and internal opportunities to share one’s skills and learnings with others within the organization
  

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, MIS, or related field
• 3-5 years ERP Data Conversion or HCM implementation experience
• 3-5 years Workday experience highly desired
• Experience with data conversion, data mining, and data loading
• Advanced experience of Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Superior detail orientation, organization, and analytical skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities; able to communicate effectively with diverse people and individuals at various levels within the organization
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment
